    book page roses tutorial

    Uncategorized

    how to make this flower

pull out, 6 pages from a book, and cut the petals. you need six of each size, like below, going from small to big

next you need to curl the edges, i found it best to roll the edges around a thin stick

then arrange then in piles by size, with the first piece roll in to a cone, and glue with glue gun, then keep adding the petals going around and around, dabbing the glue gun on each petal.

keep adding the petals in size order

after all the petals are added, you can then roll some of the petals over the stick again if you want to make it more curly,
its so simple and takes no time, i used an old book i got free with a mag so this cost me nothing apart from the glue.

happy crafting, thanks for stopping by.

As an English teacher I would never normally be able to chop up a book, however with this tutorial I finally have a use for my copy of 'Atonement' which I never really got along with. Love them.

      Thank you!

I have a difficult time destroying books, but I think these are great ways to recycle newspapers or old magzines.

I love book page projects. I usually just use the pages out of my most loathed college texts or books that have been too loved and are falling apart to the point of being completely unusable. I love the idea of giving them a second life, and there's something appealing about seeing words in all kinds of places that you wouldn't normally think to look.

Stopped by from the Oasis Accent link-up …

I collect old hymnbooks, even sometimes the same one in multiples if it looks like they might just get tossed in the dumpster. I think using the pages with Christmas carols would be great for the holidays. If people look closely, they'll see the words to their favorite Christmas songs in my wreath flowers.

Thanks so much for this idea.

Nice. Now I have a use for "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo." Worst book ever. I couldn't get past page 54 and believe me, those first 54 pages were a major struggle. And that's saying something because I LOVE to read.

I agree on the book, whole-heartedly. I got a bit farther in, the sheer violence left me running from it. Do you, by any chance, know what glue she used with these flowers? She doesn't say and I don't know.

I love these and am very frustrated making them! Perhaps my book of choice is too old? The problem I have that the pages tear when I wrap the petals? Perhaps O need to try the technique with another book; otherwise these old encyvlopedi pages work well for me for so many other things!

I have just got a BA (Hons) in English Literature and I wanted to do something special with the book I used for my major undergraduate project (Jane Eyre) I had an old copy with I had read over and over, so I followed your instructions and made some roses from this book. Every time I look at my book page roses I feel proud that I passed my degree. I also used a Harry Potter book to make a small bouquet for a friend who was getting married – she loved it – so thank you for the instructions x

I agree, the series of books are evil. Not even fit for paper flowers. I kept finding bad things on my flowers.
Back to happiness and paper flowers.
