first i cut a piece of fabric (i used part of a cotton bed sheet i bought for a previous project) into 8 equal strips. then i ruffled them using the sewing machine i have tried to demonstate the quick way i do it in the photo below. (i ruffle it with my hands and push it under the presser foot)
then i cut a piece of hessian fabric to the length of the table and folded the edges under and stitched it to make it neat, then i stitched the ruffles on. starting at the end of the runner and then working inwards, leaving a gap between each one. ensuring they were straight.
then i added some decorations to the table, with the glitter wine glases i made, (see previous post for tutorial)
