first take the piece of wood i had a piece of MDF left from a previous project which i originally got from the off cuts bin at the diy store for £1, then mark out where you want to drill, i found it was best to do five rows of five.
then take a drill with a small bit and drill holes and then screw in the hooks. as my hooks were gold and the buckets were silver i did this part first so that i could paint the whole thing white.
i got the hooks for £2 from the hard wear store
then once the paint was dry i tied ribbon to each bucket (the buckets were £14 from ebay)
then i placed them on to the hooks
next i took a scalloped circle punch and cut 25 circles and wrote on the numbers on each one and stuck them to the buckets.
and that’s all it took,
in total it cost me £17 which i think is a good investment as it can be used year after year.

This is awesome youve done a great job. I really want to make an advent calender like this. Wonder if Ill be able to find the buckets in a store over here in Aus. Well at least I have a few weeks before Christmas to get my act together and make one 🙂
Sweet idea! I'm trying to think where I could put one up!

I like this a lot. I did something similar and made a family bucket list this summer. I may still have some extra buckets laying around from the Dollar Tree…
