crack open the shell gently with a knife and then scoop out the nut and the insides.
then take a candle and cut it in to small pieces and put them inside the shells and place them in the micro wave on full power, heat them for a minute and a half at a time until its melted ( you will probably only need to do this twice.
then take them out and place the wick from the candle you chopped up into the centre and leave to cool

I love these! I received one as a gift once and it was so sweet 🙂 I use walnut shells for other projects as well but I find it difficult to break them in half without cracking/destroying them. What's your trick?
