to make the cardboard mould you will need a large piece of cardboard, when drawing the shape you want try and cut as much of it in one piece as you can so that you wont have joins visible on the concrete (for example score edges so it can be folded from one piece), with certain letters it may be easier to buy a cardboard letter and use a blade to remove the top, but as i wanted to make a “H” i was able to make my own, when sticking together the joins do it on the out side of the letter. mix up the concrete and pore in to the mould and tap it to bring any bubbles to the top.
then leave to dry, don’t place it in front of a heat source as it will cause it to try to quickly and crack. leave it over night and gently undo the mould if it cracks brush water over it and close it back up again. then leave it for a day, then take the mould off it will still be wet underneath so be gentle and keep flat, this helps the air circulate, after another day it will be dry so turn it over to get air to the bottom, after a few hours it will be rock solid and completely dry

I have been wanting to try a concrete project. I am wondering if you have to reinforce it with wire in the concrete. I love that rough texture.

Super clever! love the tutorial. 🙂
I must say however, with the kindest of intentions, your pictures are so incredibly difficult for me to see. They barely show up on my link party. Just my two cents Aimee. 🙂
