    crepe paper peonies tutorial

    Uncategorized

    you will need
    a plastic bauble
    crepe paper
    glue
    knife
    scissors

cut the top of the bauble off with a knife and then put to one side, cut a long strip of crepe paper and cut a ruffle edge along the top and gather it and put it inside the bauble.
fold up some crepe paper and then cut a petal shape with a ruffled edge. (doing this means you cut lots of petal in one go) and then start gluing them on to the bauble, add some of a darker colour in between the lighter ones and keep layering them up.
then glue a kebab stick on with a glue gun and then layer more petals over to cover the stick.

for the open one i used a ball as a mould and wrapped it with cling film them glued the petals around and then gently removed it when it had dried, then i slid a stick with petals on inside it. i then glued extra petals around the out side
i wrapped green crepe paper around the kebab sticks to finish them off.

Hi I am visiting from I heart nap time w/ Chocolate. I have loved Peonies since I was a small girl and my elderly neighbor lined her entire backyard with them. They hold a special place in my heart! I pinned this to try myself! Nice job and great tutorial.

What type of bauble was used? Is there an alternative item, maybe a recycled item that can be used for it….
      Thanks,

These look amazing! By far the best tutorial for peonies I've found out there, and I'm hoping to use this guide to make a bunch for my wedding bouquet. Did you use singly-ply crepe paper or doublette? Also, what size clear ornament did you use? Do you have any plans to develop a template for other crafters to use? I'd gladly pay for a printable guide!
