i saw some blush pears while i was at the supermarket and had to get them, i usually buy the forelle or Williams pears so i thought it would be nice to try something new.
then had to decide what to make with them, i have so many recipe ideas for pears that it was hard to choose (pinterest addict). but i decided to make pear fritters, because my partner was asking me for a batter recipe and it got me thinking about using it for this.
for the batter i used
1 and 1/2 cup self raising flour
3 tbsp sugar
2 eggs
1 cup milk
in a bowl whisk together the batter ingredients, then i a separate bowl add some plain flour, and then in another add 1/2 cup sugar and 3 tbsp cinnamon,
in a frying pan heat some sunflower oil until it reaches 180c, or use a deep fat fryer,
slice the pears into thin pieces and then dip them in the bowl of flour to coat them, then dip them in the batter and fry in the oil for a few minutes until golden (turning half way through)
remove from fryer and place on paper towel then roll it around in the bowl of sugar/cinnamon.
