    pretzel peanut caramel bars

    Uncategorized

these bars are so easy to make and taste amazing.
they are have a peanut, cracker crumb and pretzel layer with a salted caramel layer on top.
they dont last very long in our house as everyone loves them.
for quickness i use shop bough caramel but if you have time i bet they would be even better with homemade caramel.

    recipe
1/4 pack of digestive biscuits approx 8 biscuits
    3 heaped tbsp peanut butter
    1/3 cup butter
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/4 cup peanuts
3/4 cups pretzels plus more to decorate

    can of caramel
    sea salt

     preheat oven to 350f
in a food processor add the peanuts and process until chopped then add the pretzels and pulse until they are chopped into small chunks, finally add the biscuits and pulse again and add the sugar, melt the butter then add into a mixing bowl and add the peanut butter and mix in to the chopped mixture.
press into a lined tin and place in the centre of the oven and bake for 10 minutes,
    remove and let cool.

i used a can or caramel for quickness
spread it over the top and sprinkle on some sea salt and evenly place some pretzels ontop then slice and enjoy.

My sister makes something similar and gives as Christmas gifts – always love getting them, never m ade them. funny, was just thinking about them last night – I took this sister's daughter, my niece/god daughter to get ice cream and she ordered a salted caramel pretzel sundae. And I got to thinking how divine tasting they are together – and voila, you and your household think so too!

Thank you so much for sharing your recipe and inspiration, Aimee. Hugs.

Sounds tasty!! What are digestive cookies?

They are a British cookie, you may be able to find them in an international aisle at the store (where I am Fred Meyer carries choc covered digestives, but you could substitute nilla wafers or graham crackers). These look so good, I can't wait to try them!
