If you love pecan pie then this giant Chelsea bun is for you . I really enjoy bread type sweets so this was great. It’s a bit like a huge cinnamon bun with pecan pie flavoured filling.
dough recipe
500g white flour (approx 3 and 3/3 cups)
1/2 tsp salt
40g caster sugar (4 tbsp)
1 sachet fast action yeast
200ml warm water
100ml milk
1 egg beaten
40g unsalted butter softened (3 tbsp)
in the bowl of a stand mixer add the flour, salt, yeast, sugar, butter and beaten egg, pour in the milk and start mixing with the dough hook while pouring in the water continue to mix it until it comes together then start to knead ,
in a stand mixer knead for 6 minutes or if kneading by hand knead for about 10 minutes until elastic.
place in an oiled bowl and cover with cling film and leave to rise for 1 to 2 hours
filling
1/3 cup butter melted
3/4 cup soft brown sugar
3 tbsp golden syrup
1/2 cup pecans
in a food processor chop the pecans and, melt the butter and mix with the sugar and syrup and stir to combine then add the chopped pecans.
roll out dough into a long rectangle, spread the filling on
slice into strips and roll up into a spiral then place the bun into a tin
leave to double in size for 40 minutes
preheat the oven to 200c
bake for 20/25 minutes.
for the drizzle add 2 tbsp caramel sauce with 1/2 cup icing sugar and mix then drizzle over the bun slice and enjoy.

Sorry I didn't measure it i just rolled it as large as i could into a rectangle I don't really think the size matters just roll the dough as you would with cinnamon buns
