you need fabric
padding
cardboard
iron on transfer paper
image i used this french one from graphics fairy
the frame i used was black
its an ikea frame i got last year, and i wanted a change so first i spray printed it white.
because its in my craft room i decided it could be put to more use then just a photo frame so i removed the glass, then i cut to size some padding (wadding) its actually some of that faux snow blanket for can get in the dollar store at Christmas, but its cheap so i always use it as wadding lol.
then i cut my fabric to size i used some drop cloth material my partner bought me home from work,
i found the image i wanted from graphics fairy and reversed the image and printed it on to iron on paper i trimmed around the image leaving about a centimetre of paper around it. to get a perfect transfer you have to turn the steam off on the iron and run the iron over the fabric first to remove any moisture. but as i wanted the image to look aged i conducted a little experiment, so i left the steam on the iron on and it made the image have a worn effect, which is what i wanted,
then i cut some card board to the size of the back and layered 3 pieces of padding and then the fabric on top and put it into the frame and pulled it tight and succoured it, super easy

This is such a great idea. Good thing about making your own pin board is you can customize it
with your own ideas for designs.

What a great idea! Looks awesome in white with the burlap. That is an interesting tip about the aged look of the transfer. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
