i have been making paper roses for a while but i have always struggled to get the centre right, so i decided to pull apart a foam flower i had to see how the middle was glued, i have made a template of the petals from the one i pulled apart, i used two layers of crepe paper glued together for these but normal paper would work fine.
first i rolled some tissue into a bullet shape see photo 1, then i took the first set of petals (i have labelled them for you) and added some glue, then i pulled one of the petals up and around the middle part and pinched it together see photo 2. then i continued to bring the petals up, starting with the one opposite to the first one (put don’t pinch it, then do the same with the rest.
then take the next set of petals and bring the petals up one at a time gluing the edge on of one petal on to the next, then do this with the third petal cut out. then take the large petals (4 & 5) and glue them to the bottom and loosely bring them up and just add a little glue near the bottom so they don’t flop open. then add the last petal, and your done. if you want it so its a stemmed flower then attach the centre part (the bit that looks like a bullet) to a stem and then where the holes are on the template slide them on. (template supplied at bottom)
just right click and save then print as a full page image for the size i used.

Your flowers are beautiful! Thank you so much for the template – I will have to give these a go but I think you must have a magic touch to make them so realistic.
